Chia puddings are so simple to make so they require very little work on your part. This peach chia pudding takes five minutes to prepare and can be made the night before so you can enjoy it for breakfast.
Chia seed benefits:
Chia seeds have become very popular due to their cleansing, antioxidant and high vitamin properties. They are high in fibre, calcium, protein and are rich in antioxidants. They can also help to cleanse your intestines because of their high fibre content. When soaked they develop a gel like texture because they can absorb many times their weight in liquid – this gives them the ability to suppress hunger and prolong hydration, which make them great for athletes and those wanting to lose weight.
This peach chia pudding only requires 6 ingredients, has no added sugar, and is gluten and dairy free! The pudding has the texture of thick yoghurt, but you can add a bit more dairy free milk once it is made if you want a thinner texture.
If you live in NZ you can find chia seeds in the bulk bins at your supermarket. I topped my peach chia pudding with extra peach slices and linseeds. You can top it with your favourite fresh fruit, sliced almonds, muesli, seeds or if eating as a dessert try grated dark chocolate.
