Over the last few months I have started to drink a lot of green tea. I buy decaffeinated so that I can sleep at night, but can still benefit from green tea’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This iced green tea berry cooler is perfect as the weather heats up, or if you are like me and don’t really drink much alcohol but still want a special party drink for the festive season.
While I was travelling in China last year, I really enjoyed discovering all the different kinds of tea on offer. I especially liked how tea was made during a traditional tea ceremony, which transforms tea making and drinking into an art form. That extra time given to make the perfect cup of tea is really emphasized in traditional Chinese culture and the act of making and sharing tea becomes a therapeutic exercise.
This iced green tea and berry cooler is perfect as an afternoon refresher. Share it with friends and family while you relax and take your “tea time out”. Double this recipe to make a small jug, which will serve 4 people.
Serve your iced green tea with your favourite combination of fresh mint, extra berries and fresh lemon slices.
